Hi , 

Let’s talk about strength, what it really means to an athlete, and how
a little can help your kids in every aspect of their lives including
sports.  

Strength in its simplest form is just

**BEING STRONG**.  Having the ability to lift or move objects through
space (including your body) at a high rate of speed.  

The stronger you are, the more force your muscle can produce, the faster
& harder you can propel yourself or an object through space against the
force of gravity. 

Each athlete at different ages and for different sports requires a
different level of strength.  A high school football player needs to be
physically stronger than a high school tennis player.  

A female sprinter needs to be stronger than a female distance runner. 

…and my 4.5-year-old son does not need to be as strong for town rec
soccer as he will need to be for travel in a few years.  

Strength is universal…Meaning it translates to EVERYTHING you do.

Honestly, I could go on forever.  There is no wrong age to start some
form of resistance training whether it is bodyweight stuff or lifting
weights its all just GETTING STRONGER. 

Proper supervision and an EXPERT SKILLS coach who studies strength and
performance is key.  Much like hiring a hitting coach for your
swing.  

At VH we help athletes get strong, fast, and confident so they can
tackle anything life has to throw at them knowing they have the STRENGTH
to overcome it…Even taking out the garbage! 

Strength is NEVER a weakness…weakness is NEVER a strength!
